Mumping Night 2011

A great evening's entertainment for the whole family. In 2010 ACT re-introduced this event to Thornbury after many years. There will be carols in St. Mary Centre, the Mumpers’ Parade to the Chantry, a welcome Wassail cup and mince pie, magic, music, story telling, sketches and much more, plus hotdogs and roasted chestnuts on sale.

This event will be a great opportunity to find out exactly what ACT is doing, what progress we have made and the next stages of the project. Our Chairman, Chris Roberts, will present the evening and there will be plenty of time to ask questions and to address people’s concerns. Try not to miss it – tell your friends!

7.30pm Doors open at 7.00pm

Performed by Thornbury Orchestra, this event will prove to be very popular, ‘a delightful orchestral journey’.

Carols Around the Tree

Organised and run by ACT. This is a special annual event involving adult and children choir groups, music and the general public….and it’s free!
Any donation into the Christmas ACT buckets would be welcomed.

Thornbury Golf Club – Captain’s Day

Our thanks to the Thornbury Golf Club for choosing ACT as one of their charities for the year. This particular event will help to raise some funds. Unfortunately it is only open to Golf Club members. However, we are currently planning our third ‘Grand Charity Golf Day 2012’ which will be open to everyone – watch this space!

An Evening with Sir Richard Eyre CBE

Sir Richard was the Artistic Director of the National Theatre for many years, and is the recipient of numerous awards, including 5 Olivier Awards and a BAFTA. He is a giant in the theatre world and has directed many theatre and TV productions. Should be a great informal evening with a talk given by Sir Richard, a hot buffet and book signing.
